Fallow buck hunting at Rawhiti Estate is one of the true highlights of the New Zealand trophy season. Known for their broad, palmated antlers and striking coats — from rich chestnut and spotted menil to rare white and near-black — no two fallow are ever alike.

Our fallow roam the rocky outcrops, tussock faces and hidden gullies of the estate, where their sharp eyesight and nervous, unpredictable nature make for a genuinely challenging spot-and-stalk hunt. The result is a beautiful, hard-won trophy unlike any other.

Palms of the High Country

Fallow bucks are prized for their distinctive palmated antlers — broad, flattened blades that widen with age into heavy, character-filled trophies. A mature buck in hard antler is one of the most beautiful animals in the New Zealand hills.
